The organization of the IEHA

General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme authority of the Association. It has within its power to determine all matters which are not reserved to the Executive Committee. Among other things the General Assembly is responsible for:
  • approving reports from the Executive Committee
  • approving the accounts of the IEHA
  • election of the Executive Committee and its Officers
  • authorisation of all changes in the Statutes of the IEHA;
The General Assembly consists of one representative from each member organization of the Association and an alternate. The General Assembly will meet at least once on the occasion of each international congress, organized by the Association. The next General Assembly will be held in Buenos Aires 2002.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee, which currently has sixteen members from sixteen different countries, is responsible for executing the decisions of the General Assembly and for ensuring the realization of the aims of the Association. The Committee meets once every year to discuss all issues relating to the IEHA. The last meeting of the Executive Committee was held in Riverside, California on May 10th to 12th 1999. Among the topics discussed were the reform of the IEHA and the organization of the Buenos Aires Congress in 2002. The next meeting of the Executive Committee will be held in Buenos Aires in 2000.
