FORUM FOR HISTORY OF HUMAN SCIENCE ANNOUNCES THIRD ANNUAL DISSERTATION
PRIZE COMPETITION

        The Forum for History of Human Science (an interest group
affiliated with the History of Science Society) is pleased to announce
its third annual competition for best recent dissertation in the history
of the human sciences. The prize will consist of a cash award of $100 and
a letter of notification to the winner's department. Entries are
encouraged by authors from any discipline on the history of any human
science, broadly conceived. To be eligible, the dissertation must be
defended between January 1994 and June 15, 1996. It cannot have been
accepted for publication. Dissertations submitted for publication, but
not accepted by the deadline, are eligible.
        Send a copy of the dissertation and an abstract to John I. Brooks
III, Editor, FHHS Newsletter, Teikyo Loretto Heights University, 3001 S.
Federal Blvd., Denver, CO 80236. Entries must be received by June 15,
1996. The winner will be announced at the next History of Science meeting
in Atlanta, October 1996.
